Comparing to Previous Cycles
Glow’s Chart Overlay feature (available to Glow Premium members) provides a powerful way to visualize your temperature patterns and compare them from cycle to cycle.
By comparing up to 6 different bbt charts at once, you’ll be able to quickly see patterns, similarities, and differences between your cycles.
To use Glow’s overlay option, first select how you want to view the x-axis and the y-axis by choosing where and when you will pin your cycle days and temperatures. Now, choose up to 6 previous cycles by checking the start dates and then press the big “Update” button at the bottom.
Controlling the x-axis
Pin all cycles at Cycle Day 1 - The selected charts will all be displayed starting on Cycle Day 1. For example: if one cycle has 27 days and another has 36 days, the 36-day-cycle will have a longer line.
Pin all cycles at Ovulation - The selected charts will be shifted horizontally so that all of the ovulation days line up together. Please note that any chart that doesn’t have a recorded ovulation yet will not be displayed.
Controlling the y-axis
Don’t pin changes in temperature - You will see your temperatures exactly as you entered them. For example: if you entered 97.7 F on Cycle Day 3, then that is exactly what will show on the overlay chart.
Pin changes in temperature to Ovulation - The temperatures will shift to show the difference from the temperature on the day of each respective cycle’s ovulation. For example: if your temperature was 98 degrees Fahrenheit on ovulation day of Cycle 1 and the 98.5 degrees Fahrenheit the next day, your temperature on that day will show up as 0.5 degrees Fahrenheit for Cycle 1.
Pin changes in temperature to Coverline - The temperatures will shift to show the difference from the temperature of each respective cycle’s coverline (if you have one). Cycles that do not have a coverline will not show up or may shown with an error message.
That’s it! Remember, chart overlays are incredibly useful for helping you discern patterns in your cycles. For instance, they can help you see at a glance if this cycle temperature jump was higher than another cycle. Or maybe it will help you determine if you ovulated later or earlier than normal. The possibilities are endless!
