Metformin?

I started Metformin a week ago and am currently really struggling with side effects. I take 1000mg at bedtime but have been having insomnia since starting it but if I do it earlier I seem to have diarrhea. Any advice?

You need to ease your way into metformin I'm on 500 mg 3x a day and it took almost 2 1/2-3 weeks to work up to the full dosage. U started 1 pull in the am for a week the. Added pill 2 at lunch time week 2 and pill 3 four days later at dinner time. It really seemed to help with the side effects and well eliminating them for me at least
