Do you ever get over someone cheating on you?

I started dating again, and finally found someone that I really like.. However, I feel like I'm starting to bring in problems from my past relationship into this one and if I do this I know I will lose this relationship. My ex used to cheat on me, go to strip clubs/party behind my back for the majority of our realtionship so I have really bad trust issues..will I ever get over being cheated on & learn how to trust someone completely? What advice can you give me?

Just always keep in mind that this new person in your life is not your ex, and he doesn't deserve to be branded the way your ex does. To me, it is more advantageous to trust fully with your heart and, in some cases, maybe ultimately have it broken, than it is to live a broken life full of distrust and paranoia, automatically consistently depriving yourself of ever enjoying a completely loving and trusting relationship. Your ex did you dirty enough while you were together, it's up to you to fully free yourself now of the damage he did. Yes, I was cheated on by my ex and yes, I have learned from and gotten over feeling the need to check up on my current husband. It turns out he actually loves me, which I suppose my ex did not.

I'm the same way. But you have to realize that your current SO isn't like your ex. You just gotta communicate what your feeling and why your feeling that way. Your current boyfriend isn't the same as your ex. He treats you better and just remember he isn't your ex boyfriend. It takes time and sometimes can be hard to not let your past relationships and stuff affect your current relationship
