Cervix check?

When did your doctor check and see if you were dilated? I am due July 28th and she still Hasent check yet? Is that normal not to?

I was never checked because I did not want to be checked. The baby will come when it's ready.

Mine will do my 1st check this week at 36.5 weeks. I'm not excited to be honest, I learned from my last 2 pregnancies it doesn't always mean anything. You can be dilated for quite some time with no baby coming soon, or in my case you can be not dilated at all then suddenly your water leaks. So I'll let them check just for kicks, but I'm honestly not too excited about it this time around.

I'm choosing not to be checked. Even in labor, when they need to check, I'm asking that they not tell me how far dilated I am. I know from past experience that it can be discouraging so I'm just skipping that this time.

Depends on the place. Some do at 36+ weeks. Some don't until 39/40 weeks and some don't until you have contractions

The practice I go to only starts to check if you hit 40 weeks and haven't delivered yet. The checks don't tell you much, you can stay dilated for weeks or be completely closed and go in to labor that day.
