Carpet is disgusting and cannot ever be truly cleaned.

I prefer hardwood I just think it's way easier to keep clean.

I'd say hardwood because a baby is a messy little creature, so things are bound to get on the floor. I'd put a rug though, so there's comfy floor, while still being able to change it out.

I have always had pets so I love hardwood, but I'm planning on doing an area rug so that the baby will have something comfy to play on. There are ones that can go right in your washer! Then you get the best of both world.

I've personally always hated carpet because it's so hard to keep clean especially when you have pets. But I prefer hardwood and maybe get a rug for the baby to play on when he/she gets older.

I have wood in the bedrooms because it's easier to clean.

I have carpet because I don't feel like changing it. It's always been nice and cozy feeling and my kids don't play in their rooms because we have a two story and they are too young. We have a separate toy room on the main floor and basement that are laminate.
