Running a fever!! What can I take?

Hello all!

So I think I've come down with something, threw up and now running a 99.6 fever. What can I take that is ok for the baby?

A low-grade fever isn't dangerous for you or the baby, it's your body's natural immune response and actually protects you from infection. Artificially bringing down a fever with tylenol or otherwise compromises your body's ability to fight an infection, meaning you may end up more unwell. Same applies to a baby with low-grade fever when you hit that point. Make yourself comfortable, have a hot drink (helps increase sweating) or a cold drink, rest, relax, treat yourself kindly

Tylenol is safe but I would way till it gets a little higher. Hope you feel better soon.

I'd try not to take anything unless it gets over 100.1 anything below that isn't really classified as fever. A fever is our bodies furnace turning up so infection and bacteria can't grow and spread, so when we take fever reducers with risk secondary infection or prolonging illness. If it's making you really uncomfortable I'd start with damp wash clothes or a lukewarm bath.
