Did your parents screw up raising you?

People say that everyone gets screwed up one way or another, but is that really true?

They shouldn't have had me. I was def an oops being as they were 40 or older.... They still mentally never progressed past the 70's, so it's always been a battle raising a millennial/90s kid. Like today my dad said I messed up bc I paid $30 for a new tire + a change, and gave the guy a $10 tip. Of course he never offered to change it or buy me a new one, but damn sure ranted on and on about how a tire change shouldn't be more than $10.

Thankfully I was blessed with truly wonderful parents who did their research and put in every effort to evolve into best parents they could be.  They did great in many many ways.

I love my parents. I'm very close with both of them now, but when I was a teenager I was very sheltered wich led me to resent them. They never let me stay the night at a friends house or stay out past 9 or 10 and I wasn't allowed to do alot of fun things my friends did. That caused me to have anxiety about missing out on things ( I still struggle with that) and I'm kind of socially awkward. But now that I have a daughter of my own I can see they just loved me and wanted to protect me.

My mum is very unstable in all aspects of life and was in a serious abusive relationship where I was getting beat on and mentally abused too. My dad knew but never came to save me. My parents really fucked up and neither of them have apologised. I got married last year and told them through letters and they refused to speak to me for 4 months!!!!
