Moms: how important is going to the doctor?

Being mothers of babies, toddlers and small children, do you go to the dr more often than before you had children?

I hate going to doctors and will avoid it at all cost. I don't even understand why during pregnancy I have to go so often....every appt has pretty much been a waste of everyone's time.

I'm a little different, as I have a lot of immunity problems. If I get sick, it's really difficult for me to get over it, and I could be hospitalized in the end, or worse. I always have to get treated immediately, regardless of what it is 😕

For me it depends because 1: I have always been really anxious about dr's visits because it's creepy how the hoard all these sick people in there and it stresses me out to be waiting next to someone who has an infectious disease or is vomiting; broken bones and bleeding don't bother me, it's everything else. And 2: I was raised that if I wasn't bleeding, doubled over in pain, throwing up blood, dying, broken or running a fever over 100 then there was no need when my body could fight it off naturally. Now, when I was little it was obviously different but as I grew up and could express the pain I was in or was able to know something wasn't right that wasn't just a minor cold my parents would use those guidelines because with 2 kids who were generally rough and tumble and got scrapes and bruises a lot, it was racking up a lot of medical bills for minor injuries that could have been treated at home
