Tmi but for real i need to know haha

Its been 3.5 wks since I gave birth for the first time to my 6lb 12oz beautiful baby girl, i had a 2nd degree tear and stitches. My husband kept asking me if i looked "down there", and i sais nope not planning on it!! Then he jokingly said "but what if its green or something" hahah and it got me thinking i do wanna know what it looks like so i took a peak. And the stitches are gone already and nothing alarming, BUT its like gaping kinda and i can see straight through to my cervix ?! Is that normal and will it go back? Anyone else look at themselves down there after delivery?
