Periods, or is it implantation bleeding?

Hi ladies :) Me and my hubby have been ttc for three months now. Usually my periods are very consistent, im never late and I always bleed very heavily and its about five or six days long. This month my period was actually about three days late my period was very small bleeding and after two days it stopped then yesterday I spotted and then nothing and then I just spotted again. My mother in law (I have no connection with my family) said that this is normal, but its never happened to me. The same thing with my sister in law. Ive done alot of research and mostly it says I could be implanted bleeding but im not sure. Does anyone have advice? Has this happened to you and you were pregnant? Im 22 and we are financially stable enough to have a baby and we are so excited. Should I take a test? Or wait? Any advice is great TIA.
