Video baby monitors?

Question

We want to get one, honestly more for our daredevil 18 month old than our upcoming newborn. Any recommendations? Doesn't have to be strictly a baby monitor.... We are looking at the Nest cam as well as a couple other similar video systems. Would love to know what others have and why they love/hate them.

We got this one, recommended by a friend and for way less money than the ones they sell at baby stores. We both see it from our phones wherever we are, and it's also set up on the iPad that stays at home. We don't have a wifi security concern because our network is password protected. The monitor has night vision and can pan the room, a feature I really wanted for when baby starts escaping his crib. It has been set up about a month, and we still have a month to go before baby comes, but I still peek at it sometimes to get familiar with the app.

I'm just telling you right now, if you believe in anything paranormal, do not get one. Last night my sister saw a shirtless man (back to the camera) standing right in front of the camera blocking her girls. He then walked away and disappeared. My sister immediately ran into the girls room and her 5 year old said she was afraid of the princess dolls. Creepy.
