Is my body getting ready for labor?

So a week ago i had to go to l&d for spotting and cramping.. all was okay no cervical shortening or dialating... but i go in for an appt and i am 25% effaced and my cervix has shortened by 1 cm. Not dialated yet. The last 2 days i have spotted. No mucous plug or discharge but lightly pink tinged blood when i wipe.. today i think i may have had 2 contractions.. sorta like sharp intense cramps/pinching in my cervix... i have my drs cell phone and plan to text/call her when and if i get one more contraction (if thats even what i am experiencing) any advice? FTM so everything is so new!! Currently 36 weeks tomorrow..
