Are you freaked out about SIDS?

FTM and having a hard time "sleeping when the baby sleeps" because I keep checking to see that they are still breathing. Also, our twins are NICU babies who required oxygen so I think that's still in my mind:(

FTM here as well and I really struggled with this for the first week or two.  I eventually just became more comfortable and my husband just kept reminding me that we have to trust in God to protect him when we can't watch over him.  That has been very comforting when trying to sleep.

I would be if I had a preemie I'm sure. Ive been sleeping mostly with my son on my chest and I feel safer knowing he's right there.

I have a 5 week old and I check his breathing all the time and I also have a 12 year old and check her breathing 2-3 times a night :/ it never ends with me. If my husband gets up in the middle of the night I say "check to make sure Haylie is still breathing"

I was worried about this and remembered how sleep deprived I became with my daughter checking on her frequently to see that she was breathing, so this time around we bought an Owlet monitor. It's great. It monitors HEART RATE and OXYGEN levels and sounds an alarm if baby's levels go out of acceptable range. I sleep much better now.

Yes especially since I've been there when my baby was choking/drowning in his spit up that wouldn't come up and I had to immediately lean him over and pat his back to get it out and it didn't come out easy. That was when I tried formula. He's also had a few episodes of what it seemed like choking on air when he needed to burp. I burp him as much as I can but sometimes during his naps, there will still be some air. He tries to inhale his milk and takes in alot of air no matter whether it's a bottle or my breast. I've got the extra slow flow preemie nipples for him too. Only does so much. Doesn't help that my breasts are overproducing making it very difficult for him and just this morning he threw everything back up after nursing from all the air and too much milk at once😞 He's only 18 days old so it'll be awhile b4 his little tummy can handle my supply which I'm trying to decrease/slow down.

I'm the same way. my son was a month early and in the NICU with oxygen and I literally check to make sure he's still breathing ALL-THE-TIME. And any noise he makes I get out of bed to check on him. His bassinet is right next to our bed.
