Infertility and insurance

Does anybody get offered health insurance from their employer but buy their own instead? Here's the problem, I work in Rhode Island where law mandates that health insurance covers infertility. I thought I was all set. However, my insurance is BCBS from Kentucky because that's where my corporate office is. Kentucky is not a state that covers infertility automatically. In November, we have open enrollment and I honestly have to say I'm happy that there are so many different choices of companies and plans I have to choose from so I will shop for the best and do my research to see which ones cover infertility. But do any of you pay out-of-pocket for your insurance and which do you find to be the best?
