Are you suppose to have a baby shower for your second child? My daughter and my second child will be about 3 years apart. Just wanting opinions. Tia!

Mine are 4 years apart and we decided to just have a diaper party the first week of August. Family members are still talking about bringing gifts but I didn't want to seem needy or something so we made it all about diapers.
