Too early to buy things?

My best friend and I wanted to go thrift shopping and find some projects to do. She was looking for a dresser and I was looking for a rocking chair. Well we go into this cute little shop and we make our way to the furniture, and there right in front of me is changing table. It's was in perfect condition. My friend and I thoroughly inspected it and asked the owner what was wrong with it. She said its in perfect condition and could be mine for $20. So of course I got it! I'm going to be 16 weeks on Sunday. I know my mom is going to be upset when she sees that I bought it. I'm feeling kind of guilty now. Is it too early to start buying things?
