Am I wrong for being upset?!

My husband and I are talking about the hospital and all for when our second is born.. So he says if we have him on a weekday that he will not be staying the night with me.. Instead he will be going home to go to work the next day.. With our first he stayed and I remember needing a lot of help due to being so sore. Am I wrong for being mad about his decision this time? Is this even right?!

If he really can't miss work due to risk of losing job or you are financially strapped for cash, needs to stay at home with other child, I could see his point.

If he has time he can take off without fear of loosing job and bills will get paid, then yes, think he should take off till at least you get home from hospital.

You shouldn't be mad. He's thinking about the financial part of your family. You'll have nurses and I'm sure other family members that can help as well.

I think it depends on your situation. My husband will take off while I'm in the hospital but will probably not stay the night since we have 2 other kids at home.

We have 3 other kids so my husband will go home. My husband never takes time off from work. He is a awesome saver and I am ok with that.

I personally let my DH go home every night to sleep, he was really not much help when he was just as exhausted as I was. The nurses were great wjth helping me with baby as needed since I've had all csection babies. And if he has to choose between taking off now while ur in hospital or when U get home, wouldn't you rather him be home for as long as possible when u get home, I would.

Of course you are going to be sensitive about this but I would see if you have a close relative or friend that can stay in his place. This is a very real possibility for me and my husband and I have my BFF on back up.

Is he not able to get time off after baby is born? I personally don't mind if hubby stays the night or not, we will be making that decision last minute based on what time baby is born and how our older son is doing with Grandma and Grandpa. My husband will go where he's needed most. I'd be upset if he wasn't taking any time off to stay home after our baby was born though. If it's just not possible that's something you guys have to talk about and plan for but if he just doesn't think it's necessary then you should talk and work out how much time he can reasonably take off.

My husband did have to go in a couple of times after my son was born. Because you never know when baby will come it's hard to not need to go in and tie up a few loose ends. Not the next day though! Anything can wait one day ;)

Depends. If he really can't miss work then it's probably best he goes home. Plus someone needs to take care of your first little one (if they are not a teen or something).
I know the help would be much appreciated but if he really can't get out of work then as sucky as it is, it's probably for the best.

Now if he can and just doesn't feel like sleeping on the cot or couch or whatever... then yes that's kinda crappy...

I think it depends on your situation. If there are complications or youre way to sore, he should stay.

If everything goes smoothly, i dont see why he should HAVE to. Especially if youre tight on money or hell get fired for not showing up. Hes still doing things for the family by going to work.
