Can you throw your own baby shower?

Maybe I'm just being paranoid, but I just can't imagine any of my family members wanting to or thinking of throwing me one for some reason. Is it weird to throw your own? I don't even know how it works. I would definitely like to have one.

I threw my own with my first, I never did have anyone offer to do it so I did it myself!! And I'm due with #2 in December so I'm sure it will be the same way this time too
