If you've been sexually assaulted are you more likely to be again?

I was sexually assaulted by my cousin last year (he was 16 and I was 15) and we never pressed charges. I've seen all these posts of women being assaulted years apart by different people. Statistically do you think that if it happened once its more likely to happen again?

Statistically, yes you have a 25% higher chance of being assaulted again. I have been assaulted 3x, and I wish I had known the stats after the first time.

Once you are sexually assaulted you are 7 times more likely to be assaulted again.

It's possible yes. Im kind of leaning towards yes it will but only due to my own experience. If I were you just stay away from your cousin as much as humanly possible. And make sure you are never left alone. Your cousin may not do it again but I personally wouldn't put it past them(sorry I can't give you a definitive answer) x
