How do I fix my apparent smell..?

I've been told by mutille people that my ex boyfriend is going around telling people that I'm "gross" and that I "smell". How do I fix this problem? I'm a very clean person and I shower regularly. I thought that the smell was something that was out of your control but I could be wrong. I'm just unsure about it.
