Sharing a post partum room?

Does anyone else's hospital do this? I was very upset when I heard this. Two moms, two babies, in one room, one bathroom. You bleed all over the bathroom and have to share. This is disgusting.

My hospital only recently switched to private post partum rooms. When my SIL delivered, she had to share and her husband wasn't allowed to stay overnight, plus the other woman's family was so loud all the time. She signed herself out of the hospital after 18 hours.

The hospital I'm delivering at keeps you in the same room during labor, birth and recovery and it's a private room with a couch for the partner to sleep on.

My hospital is like this, we can request a private room but our insurance won't cover it and we can't afford it 😭 all I can think is: what if the other woman (or her SO) snores and I can't sleep? Or if their baby wakes my baby up? what if they have a ton of visitors come in and out of the room when I'm trying to recover? What if they're rude or smelly or dirty? I told everyone visiting baby to be vaccinated, and what if my "roommate" isn't? What if they're sick or have sick visitors? The list goes on....

Private rooms at my previous hospital and the one I'll be using now. I have heard though if a lot of women are delivering at the same time, it's just not possible to have your own room. They only have about 6 rooms at my hospital.

DANG. The hospitals I'm familiar with have private rooms. Go to a different hospital.

With my first son they tried to do that with me and the other lady had like her Dad and brothers visiting and they expected me to hobble past to pee.

Needless to say I was livid and sent my husband to either get me my own room or get me early release papers cuz I was not having it!

For my other son we went to a different hospital! They are crazy to think you want to share space with other people during recovering.

My husband said when one of his children were born in California they had 2 women in 1 room DURING LABOR. They're only separated by the curtain hanging from the ceiling. (this was 6 years ago though) 😒 I would die. 
Here in KY you get your own room during labor and after baby comes. I'm sorry to hear that! Maybe there is another hospital near you that you can go to?
