Why???

Why does everyone get so angry when someone offers sympathy or empathy over the fact that we are pregnant over the summer?

I kinda appreciate that people acknowledge that this heat and pregnancy aren't a fun combination.

I don't understand the anger over it....

I don't mind that, I just hate when I tell people that I can't sleep because of my back pain and it never fails, they always say "sleep while you can! Once that baby is here blah blah blah" like OH I didn't know babies keep you up all night! Let me just magically take my back pain away so I can sleep right now!

I only got mad about it when someone told me we planned poorly. It was so inappropriate and felt really invasive. Like, you're talking about the time we had TONS of sex trying to get pregnant. How is that any of your business?

I don't understand the anger over people saying your bump is big either.

Your bump is supposed to grow it's a sign if a healthy pregnancy.

I guess hormones have alot to answer for, because I've seen some moaning about some crazy stuff on here.

I think (for me personally) the frustration comes from when people are like "oh it only gets worse" or "summer is the worst time to be pregnant" without offering sympathy, just telling me to tell me. But when people are sympathizing then I'm glad they're understanding that it's going to be hard for me. It might just also be pregnancy hormones making people frustrated.

To me there's a big difference between sympathy and pity. I don't want to be pitied. I also don't want to be told I look like a house. There are just so many other words to use. Plus it's not what people say, it's how it's said.

Had a customer look at me at work the other day and said (while pointing to my stomach) "why did you create THAT during the summer" I just laughed it off, but I really wanted to say "actually I created MY SON in the winter, I'm just pregnant with him in the summer, asshole." Like its bad when it gets hot, yes, but I wouldn't trade being pregnant with my son over anything...pregnancy is only temporary, kids are forever!

Ugh I have a coworker who hasn't been able to get pregnant and I feel very sorry for her situation. At first I tried to be really quiet about my pregnancy, but it's really difficult not to acknowledge that I'm 8 months pregnant in July and I have had a real pain in the ass third trimester so far. Literally anytime I get sick or have an issue and I get upset, she makes a comment about how she would "trade me." It's like a stab in the gut. I'm not unappreciative and I love my baby boy! I'm just having some really challenging times right now.

Not to mention limited outfit choices ! And the sweating is horrible definitely not fun to be huge all summer long

There is no good combination with pregnancy haha winter time with all these clothes put on, coats, scarfs, cardigans and long pants is not nice and easy either!

My issue is that this isn't my first pregnancy where I was very pregnant during the summer. My first was born in November, my second in August, this one due in September.

Why???
