How long does your baby feed?

I EBF and my baby has always only eaten 7 mins at a time and one breast only every feeding. He is gaining weight and eats every 2 1/2 to 3 hours so I'm guessing he is getting enough in those 7 minutes but wondering if that's normal. Also, he is fully awake and I do offer the other breast after I burp him but he gets off the breast on his own and does not want any more. Thoughts ?

I was just wondering this too. My boy used to take 30-45 mins from both breasts. Now that he's 8 weeks old he only does 10-25 mins on both breasts. But he is gaining a lot. He was 8lbs 2oz at birth and is now 12 lbs 5oz at 8 weeks. So it must be ok!  He is also going longer between feeds. Used to be every 2-2.5 hours. Now it's about every 3.5-4 hours.

My LO is exactly the same, rarely nurses for more than 10 mins every 2.5-3 hours, but she is gaining weight normally, so I think we are just lucky! When I make her take more those are the only times that she has spit up, so I just let her decide when she is finished. I think they are just efficient eaters :)

Some babies are just naturally good suckers in combination with a mom who has one large letdown as opposed to multiple small letdowns & a slow sucking baby.

My boy is 10 weeks old. He breastfeeds from 30 mins to 1 hour on one breast and drinks every 1 hour to 2 hours. This is night and day.  I have too much milk so he only drinks from one at a time otherwise the flow is too much. I recently found out he has tongue tie and that is why he may have trouble drinking more effectively and sleeping longer.

Mine eats every 2-4 hours. Feeds for half an hour. Sometimes only 15-20 minutes at night

Following! My 8 week old son does the same. Sometimes he'll only eat for 7-8 minutes and not want any more. Sometimes hell even fuss if I try to get him to keep eating. He eats every 2-3 hours and seems content. He's gaining weight too. And I can't force him to eat...
