Is spermicide really effective?

Hey ppl, so I'm new to using spermicide and I just started using it this weekend I'm just not sure how effective it really is, it says it's about 70% to 80% effective if it's used alone, my bf and I have been using that all weekend instead of condoms and it says it's effective right after its put in. Is there anyone out there at could help?

I have used these with my husband and they worked great, but I was also in BC too. Please be very careful because they aren't as effective as other contraceptives. What type of spermicide are you using?

Its best if used with more than one form of birth control. Such as the pill or the nuva ring. When its being used in its own it has a pretty low chance of working. I use it with the pill. Just to be extra sure. Since we dont use condoms.

My husband and I got pregnant while using just spermicide. Best blessing ever but either I didn't do it right, the effectiveness isn't AS high as other BC methods, or God just wanted to bless us with our little guy. It was the dissolveable sheets that you fold and stick up inside of you.
