Birth control , does it hurt?

Has anybody gotten the little tube that goes in the arm ( don't know the name) Post your stories , I'm getting mine Thursday and I'm scared!

I had the Implanon. It's now called Nexplanon. It hurt going on and bruised but wasn't unbearable.

I got mine over a month ago. I have had mine period since. It was on the longer side. The dr use local anesthesia to numb the area before injecting the implant. I included the pic below which was a few days (4 exactly) after I got. It doesn't bother me now. You can feel it if you touch your arm and I definitely feel it if I press or there is pressure applied to that part of my arm - i.e. Holding a baby.

I had it. It only works for 3 years but I kept it in for 5 (because I didn't have health insurance to get it removed) and it worked all 5 years! It's a good birth control to have. The only thing I hated was I had a light period for 6 months straight when it was initially put in.
