Can I fire a few of my bridesmaids?

I have 7 total mad of the 7, 4 actually respond or help out. I'm really rethinking my decision especially with the wedding in two weeks. Why have b*t*hes standing next to me on my day who haven't even been there with me through the process?  How do I do it?

You simply tell them you don't want to have them in the wedding. Unless they're super busy, I'd cut them slack. Otherwise be honest. They'll either accept it or have to get over it. It's your weding. Not theirs

If they already bought their dresses and wasted money for your wedding then no don't fire them. Just leave it be. If you already asked them to be in the wedding just allow it and maybe talk with them about it after the wedding. Don't start drama because it will end up just being more stress on you. Plus im guessing your so will also have 7 people on his side, he probably won't want to have to tell hos friends they can't be in the wedding anymore because a few friends for you are too busy. It will throw everything off. Just be thankful to the bridesmaids who are helping you and get them something low key without the other ones knowing. Maybe pay for their mani/pedis for the wedding. Good luck and try not to stress about other people!

My goodness. This sounds too familiar. I would honestly ask you to take a mental step back from the wedding prep madness and evaluate what these friendships mean to you. I say this because exactly two years ago I was in your shoes. While I did not fire my bridesmaids I did let them know how I felt about their seeming indifference when there were a million things to be done. While I was no bridezilla, pulling off a dream wedding is stressful and I know I may have taken it out on them. The friendships are now two years later very strained as a result. My maid of honor never spoke to me after the wedding. Another bridesmaid I have not seen since the wedding- her daughter is my God daughter so that's painful but I caused it with my stressed complaints.

So weigh it. I know you're stressed right now but maybe the friendships aren't worth losing. Wish I was in a frame of mind to take my own advice two years ago.

I'd lay it all out in black and white. Let your expectations be known, (always helpful from the get go). Expectations that don't get voiced just lead to hurt feelings/anger/resentment..... Doesn't help that you've got extra stress because you're so close to your big day. Let them know you need them and would love to have more participation, ask for specifics. If they blow you off, then just tell them straight forward that you need girls that will stand by you in support. Maybe even mention that there will no bachelorette party unless other things get done first. Just an idea. Chat with your fiancé and get on the same page about how many friends you both really need up there with you. Like one of the other comments mentioned, let the girls who are helping know you appreciate their support and treat them to something special.

I had no bridesmaids. It was the best decision I've made in my entire life, aside from marrying my husband😉 All of my friends helped out, but at the same time no one felt obligated, and no ones feelings were hurt for not being asked.
