I don't and neither does my husband, but if I ever told him "no" or "stop" he would absolutely do so and vice versa. Even if I just don't act that into it, he stops. Not having sex with someone who doesn't want to have sex really isn't that difficult of a concept to grasp, there doesn't need to be screaming and yelling and "NO NO NO" for it to be obvious that the other person isn't willing. These constant "what constitutes as rape" and "what constitutes as consent" threads are getting very overdone.

No, because when my partner and I were first together we sat down like actual grown ups and discussed our boundaries. We agreed it wasn't necessary for us. That doesn't invalidate the conversation about informed consent.

No, but if you're having sex with a new person it's good to do. There are a lot of creative ways to get consent, you don't have to verbally ask "DO YOU CONSENT?!?!??!" every time. Guys usually say something like "I want to fuck you" and then I say "I want you to fuck me" and boom, established consent.

What's your point? Consent is defined as affirmative words or actions. Just because it wasn't verbal doesn't mean there was no consent. Verbal consent is just the most polite way to gain consent from a first time partner. I've had plenty of guys about to take a step further in our make out session to ask "Can I?".. but my now long term boyfriend and I know each other's body language well enough to just go at it. (But obviously we sometimes use verbal consent, like when I'm laying in his bed "please fuck me baby" 😉)

Personally, James and I have our ways of consenting. If I don't want him to do something, I'll push him away, and that's that. He does the same to me.
