Baby not moving anymore, should I be concerned?

Hi , I'm currently 20 weeks along, and since last night my baby has stopped moving. My father-in-law passed away last night too and baby hasn't moved since. With the ambulance and everything here at home last night and the shock of what was happening.... could that've been the cause and should it be a cause for concern? any advice is greatly appreciated thankyou.

Firstly, if you are concerned you should always call your doctor or midwife. Secondly, baby is probably fine. At 20 weeks it's expected that baby will be felt some days and not others. They tell you not to start counting kicks until 28 weeks. But, always follow your own instincts. Val your doctor and ask if you can come in for a quick Doppler check of the heartbeat. Explain that there has been a death in the family and you are a little anxious. They should let you come in today.

Also try putting a cold drink on your belly like a water bottle. My baby kicks at the bottle till I move it and I know she's still there! Good luck!

It's still early you won't feel baby all the time. They have their moments when they are active. I'm 24 weeks and I definitely don't feel baby all the time. Baby needs to get a little bigger before you start needing to worry about this.
