I'm on anti depressants and I plan on staying on my meds my whole pregnancy. There are some out here that are suitable during pregnancy, but most defiantly ask your dr about side effects. The side effects of the anti depressants im on is that there is a chance the baby could go through withdrawal like symptoms when born but to me that seems like a little price to pay for me to be happy and healthy throughout my pregnancy. When I had a miscarriage earlier this year I stopped taking my meds when I found out I was pregnant and it was the worse thing I have ever done it ended with my being in a mental health facility for 2 weeks. At the end of the day you need to do what's best for you because in doing so you are doing what's best for your baby!

Check with your Obgyn about the antidepressants and make sure they are pregnancy-safe. I have to take anxiety meds. Sometimes it's worse for the baby if the mom is severely depressed or anxiety-ridden. But first, make sure you have a supportive environment and that you're doing everything you can, aside from the meds, to calm yourself down. The meds I take are the minimal amount I can take, so I still struggle with anxiety, just not as bad as without the medication. I wish you the best of luck. 💗

I was put on Zoloft with my first pregnancy & he was fine. The worse part was the first 2 weeks I felt like morning sickness all over again. He came out fine.

I have meltdowns and breakdowns all throughout my pregnancies. Never was prescribed antidepressants though my ex thought I should have been. Hormones suck during pregnancy but my doctor when I had my oldest said my depression was more due to my situation. At the time I thought he meant my living situation (my ex kept moving us because he wasn't good at paying rent) but now I realize he meant the situation of my relationship with my ex. I was emotionally and mentally abused which eventually turned physical. 
I want you to think long and hard about why you are depressed. And I want you to see a psychiatrist. One that won't immediately turn to drugs. And I want you to be honest with yourself. Don't make excuses.
