Bleeding in between periods

Me and my husband have been ttc for 9 months now and nothing so far. Since my last period I have had a couple days where I was bleeding. I went to the doctors and they have done tests which I am waiting on the result but I have just started bleeding again. My period isn't due for another week and I am always so regular. Can anyone shed some light on this or has anyone else experienced this and know's what it is? X
