Pregnancy annoucement??

Question

When is the best time to tell family about the pregnancy news?? I'm right at five weeks and my family and I are celebrating my birthday next weekend, and I will then be 6 weeks. My first dr appointment is next week 2 days before the birthday celebration. Would that be too soon to tell them all? We live almost 2 hours away from all of them, and we both just started new jobs. We have no idea when the next time we would see them in person would be. I've read a lot of blogs and books online and they all say to either wait until after the first trimester or to do whatever you feel you want to do. This is our first pregnancy so neither one of us know what to do??? I wanted to ask some of you ladies on here for some advice!

I would wait until at least the second trimester or when the risk of miscarriage reduces drastically. I suffered a devastating miscarriage last October and I'm so grateful that I never told anyone about being pregnant. The thought of having to explain the most miserable time of my life over and over again to everybody who asks how I'm doing just sounds like an utter nightmare to me. Thankfully we were able to get pregnant again and this time I waited until well into my sixth month of pregnancy to tell anybody even close friends and family. It's a very personal decision though and it really just depends on if you want the world to know a lot of personal things about you and I'm just not that kind of person. When it comes down to it you should tell whenever you feel ready! For some it's immediately after the pee is dry on the stick for others like me it's almost at the end of your pregnancy. With our second, we told everybody right away and then 3 weeks later, I miscarried.. This next time around, we are going to wait until I'm about 20 weeks to tell people outside of my immediate family.

I told my family after I told my husband. I was 5 weeks. We posted on FB at 7 weeks because we were told I would never conceive and carry my own child, so we wanted as many people praying for the baby as we could get.

If you get an ultrasound you should tell everyone at your bday party. Do like a speech like "thanks for celebrating my birthday but I also have a gift for each one of you" and pull out the ultrasound and yell I'm pregnant!

I understand waiting and I understand telling now. It's so exciting and to have them all there in person would be amazing to see their reactions. A lot of people say to wait until you're in the "safety" zone but I had a chemical pregnancy in March and I had already told my family. It was a little awkward at first explaining to everyone but it was nice to have the support. We got pregnant again in April and told everyone in our family after the first doctors appt/ultra sound at 8 weeks. I didn't regret either times! Congrats and do what feels best!!

With both babies I told my family early. With my son I was 7 weeks along when I announced and with my daughter I was 5 weeks along. Both are healthy. My son is 2 years old now and my daughter is due in 27 days (or less) I think it's more what your comfortable with honestly.

It all depends on you. No one can tell you when the right time really is. When you feel it's right is when it's right. Some people wait a very long time while others announce when they pee on the stick. I told close family members only at 6 weeks because that's when I found out. After, we only told very close friends. I officially announced at 12 weeks.

It's really up to you 😊 some people tell right away and some wait a while. We told his parents at 7.5 weeks (first ultrasound) and waited two weeks longer to tell my mom and everyone else on Mother's Day

Do what feels right! If you're ready to tell them and want to tell them, then do it. I waited until I was further along before telling anyone, even my mom lol.
