Possibility of getting pregnant?

My mother once told me it is impossible to get pregnant if you're not ovulating. Is that true? Is it really only possible to get pregnant in the green days that eve shows you when you're ovulating?

According to basic health course, it is possible to get pregnant any day of your cycle, there are no "safe" days, even during your period. Always use at least one form of birth control if you do not want to get pregnant. If you are trying to get pregnant, your chances are highest the week prior to ovulation (when the egg is ready for sperm), all the way up until your next period (which is when the egg is released from the body). Sperm generally live between 2-7 days.

True-ish. You need the egg, yes. But this is an app. It isn't 100% accurate. Ovulation actually only takes place in a 12-24 hour period. You are at a high risk for pregnancy anytime during your fertile window which starts 5 days prior to ovulation and lasts about 2-3 days after. This is because sperm can live up to 3-5 days.
