Things nobody told me

EDIT: FORGOT TO MENTIONS

You can tear on your labia. Not just the area between your vag and butt. I didn't know this until I was one of those that tore.

As many pointed out, I did forget to mention the belly massages! They hurt, especially the first day after delivery when they're coming in and doing them. By the second day, it wasn't hurting hardly at all.

The first shower after birth is orgasmic. You've been through all that, all sweaty, and haven't gotten to shower, it feels amazing to get under some warm water.

If your hospital doesn't give you some dermoplast, go get some. It helps. A lot.

The epidural: it numbs you good, but I could still feel the contractions while I was pushing. That may have been my fault though because I was avoiding pushing the button the closer I got to pushing. It was not bad at all though being able to feel a little pain and tightening, it helped with the pushing. But if it doesn't completely wear off before your bladder gets full and you haven't peed on your own, they put a straight catheter in to drain your bladder 😵

Baby being born: I obviously had the epidural, but after his head came out, the doctor had to bring the rest of his body too. It felt so weird! I don't even know how to explain it. All I remember is telling the doctor "that's fucking weird".

Pitocin drip: they didn't immediately remove my IV. They actually left it in until the pitocin finished, because it's supposed to help the uterus contract back.

Down stairs: my butt hurts more than my vagina! I think it's weird, as I have stitches from a first degree tear and I just pushed a 7lb11oz child out of my body, but my butthole hurts more than any other part of my body.

Pain meds: even for a vaginal birth, they give pain medicine. It really surprised me when I said I was hurting and the nurse said "we have percusset for you, do you want one or two". It helped tremendously though.

Bleeding: for me, the bleeding seems to have slowed down since I hit about 12 hours PP. But they also said to make sure I pee a lot. So that way my bladder isn't pushing on my uterus and preventing it from going down or something like that.

Baby: so far, I've had three times where I've laid down and then got worried realizing I haven't felt baby move. Then I remember it's because I'm holding him.
