I actually went to my dentist yesterday and he brought up that pregnant women are very prone to swollen, red & bleeding gums...gingivitis can happen during pregnancy too. He said to just make sure to floss and use flouride mouthwash everyday

I'm a dental hygienist and I agree with the other comments. Keeping up with your oral hygiene is hugely important. Gum disease can actually lead to pregnancy complications. One thing you should be aware of though, if you're vomitting from morning sickness, rinse your mouth out with water afterwards but wait a half hour before brushing because the stomach acid in the vomit temporarily weakens the enamel on your teeth and brushing too soon afterwards can lead to demineralization and erosion.

I got my cleaning right before getting pregnant and going again for a cleaning next month just to keep my gums super healthy. So far no gum bleeding.

Yes. It's more common in pregnant women because of the added blood flow. Just keep up with normal brushing and flossing.

Saw my dentist shortly after finding out I was pregnant for a routine visit.  He warned me about bleeding gums and said don't back off on brushing/flossing or mouthwash.  Its normal to have gum issues in pregnancy, but not dealing with them can cause further issues later.
