Two sacs, only one pole?

Question

Not sure how I feel. Had an early US today, approx 6 weeks. They saw two gestational sacs, but only one fetal pole. Is it possible that the other can still be viable, that it's just too early to tell?

Didn't get a pic printed but found one on google that looks identical to how mine was, adding for reference.

At my 7 weeks appt they only saw one sack and one baby. At 11 weeks we found out there were two! Keep the faith, it might work out.

Thanks for the input ladies! The US tech also said that it could be anterior and so hard to see this early. Hoping for at least one viable baby in two weeks when I got back, if not another. Crossing my fingers 😁

Unfortunately when they saw only one pole for my twins and i went back for another scan i had disappearing twin syndrome, but now im 9w and have a strong healthy mini. Good luck!!!

same thing happened to me. i have a follow up next week as well im hoping they can find both heart beats!

That is interesting that you say that about the anterior placenta bc my baby B has an anterior placenta and we didn't see his heartbeat at first scan either. Here is my first us at 5.3 and 5.5, when I thought I was 7 weeks. Hope everything goes well for you.

I feel like it's probably possible, not sure how likely though. They should be able to at least see the fetal pole by now. Mine had a heartbeat at 6w2d. Good luck!

I would just give it time. Could be okay still. When I first went in I Saw the sac and nothing. A lot can happen in a week have faith. If not looks like you'll be blessed with one. I hope all is okay.
