Why can you get fertility treatment in your younger 20s but not get sterilized?!🤔

I'm not sure but then again I'm sure it's not very popular for women in their 20s to want to get sterilized (not 100% sure on this just my assumption) but I think if a woman really wants to its her choice and she should be able to!

That's a good question. Honestly i never thought about, but your question does make sense. If they will help  you have a child why not sterling the ones that don't want children? Good question!!!!

Because of the stereotype that all women should be nurturing and want children and every woman who says she doesn't will probably change her mind. It's stupid and everyone over 18 should be able to get whatever elective medical treatment they choose to get.

Not that I agree with it, as I'm one of those women they are denying but it's my assumption that the reason they are more apprehensive about sterilization for young women is because studies have shown that many women who do get sterilized regret it, and since it's supposed to be permanent their concern is that a woman may change her mind after the fact, blame them, and possibly try to sue. And though reversals can result and a successful pregnancy, it costs thousands of dollars for a reversal.

Also, insurance usually covers the cost of sterilization where as a majority (if not all) of insurances do not cover fertility treatments. It's easier to make a rash decision when it's not coming out of your pockets

Its because of the high rate of women who did change their mind later on or regretted getting it done. I have friends who were turned away in their 20s who went on to have children 10 yrs later and said they glad they didn't get it done. Not the case for all women I know, but there are more than enough reliable birth control options to prevent pregnancy without having to have an irreversible  operation.

Because they're fucking stupid, that's why. Personally I do want kids, however if I didn't and I had to wait several years till I could have them, the day of the procedure I would just go up to my doctor and say "Well you you look at that! I never changed my mind! Crazy, huh?! It's almost like all those years you made me wait because I might 'change my mind' was nothing more than a waist of time! Hahaha! Fuck off..." And then just get it over with.
