I spotted for 2 months straight with occasional heavy bleeding as well after getting my mirena. I've had it for 7 months now & barely have a period. It's awesome. Totally worth the rough first couple of months in my opinion.

Sometimes while your body is adjusting to the hormone your period can last a looooong time. It's not unusual, just very annoying! You should be down to no period or very light ones in the next month. 
If you are concerned tho, and if it's heavy period bleeding id talk to a doctor, just to make sure it's all good!

Girl! I had the same problem! I was bleeding for like 4 months. I finally went to the doctor because I was tired of buying countless boxes of tampons! She prescribed me Premarin 😌. I stopped bleeding and my body started to do what it does after every period (discharge, I guess?). I just had a "regular period." I did 9 days, I'm so happy 😌😌.

Yes the first couple months are a lil crazy, but very few periods for the next five years, it's totally worth it to me!

It can sometimes take a full 6 months before your body gets used to the hormone. Irregular bleeding and spotting are definitely normally until then.
