Bleeding-Is this normal?! Im 36 weeks pregnant. I had a Drs appointment today and he did a cervical check. After leaving the office I bled through my pants. It slowed Down but I just went to the bathroom and now I'm bleeding like a period. Help??

Well did your doctor say you could bleed after? If you were bleeding through your pants that sounds like to much blood I'd go to the hospital just to be safe but that's just me

I had pretty heavy bleeding the first time I had a cervical check during my first pregnancy, with a lot of clots - big clots. It terrifies me because it was like a period on a heavy flow day. Everything was fine and it eased up by evening, spotted a bit that night and the next day it stopped. If you feel uneasy about the amount, I would not hesitate to get checked out. I didn't know what to do as it was my first; I had called my doctor and they said it was normal but if I started cramping or having pain, to go in. I didn't go in since they said it was normal - which it did end up being. Always follow your instinct and if you aren't sure, go in. Better safe than sorry.

I know it's normal to bleed after a pap but never that much I would go to the hospital just to be safe

Also, your cervix is extremely sensitive so maybe she did a pretty intense check and loosened things up a ton and irritated some blood vessels. But again, to be sure I would get checked out-that's the only way to be certain. I'm sure everything is fine though.

UPDATE LADIES: the bright red bleeding stopped and now it's just brown with some clots. But the baby isn't moving nearly as much, /: I go for a NST tomorrow for my gestational diabetes so I'm trying not to worry.

I never bled that much after a check and mine was always light pink--I'd def go In ASAP to get checked

Go to er. My doctor did a cervix check and I was bleeding. Not nearly as much and no clots and she sent me to the hospital for an ultrasound to make sure everything was ok.
