Natural tear vs episiotomy?!????!!!

Moist women heal quicker when allowed to naturally tear.  That's why episiotomy are slowly being fazed out.

I had a natural tare. I also know that the hospitals where I'm at are not doing the episiotomy as much anymore as it is generally better to heal from a natural tare vs a cut. (I do not have the links for sources but they are not to hard to find. I'm just about in zombie mode for the night)

I got a cut due to bubs heart rate dropping. It was that or claps on bubs head doctor decided to cut. I felt like I healed pretty quick but then I can't compare either.

I had an episiotomy with my first born bc my baby needed a little help getting out. It's just what my dr at the time decided to do. With my second child, I tore a little naturally. My dr that I had while pregnant told me she could've prevented me from tearing at all, had I waited to push (right...cause not pushing when you have the urge is so easy to do). We shall see what happens with this baby I'm 31 weeks pregnant with now :)

my doctor said she only does an episiotomy if she can tell the woman is going to tear anyway, and she does it because a straight line is easier to stitch than a jagged line. that makes sense to me. I ended up having a c-section, so I don't have personal experience. seems like since you'd likely need stitches either way, the recovery would be about the same, but I really don't know.

I've only naturally tore...I didn't even notice it because of the other pains of pushing and contractions but it hurt like hell getting stitched up afterwards
