How do some of you guys get to find out the gender of your baby so early?! Like I've seen some of you know 13-16 weeks. My ultra sound tech said we can't book our next one until 18-20 weeks for the gender. She said she knew what it was but didn't want to get our hopes up (I'm 13 weeks) why is it that some get to know so early?! I'm so impatient 😭

I went to a private ultrasound place at 15 weeks 2 days and found out we were having a boy. 😊

Look for a place that does 3D ultrasounds and they do early gender reveals! I found out at 16 weeks

Your 20w scan isn't a gender ultrasound, it's an anatomy scan. I found out at 15w because I went to a private place and paid for it, then had an ultrasound through my doctor at 16w which confirmed the sex.

Some of them are doing the blood testing to find out that early.

Some people do an optional blood test to find out, some do an elective ultrasound (both are generally not covered by insurance unless medically necessary.) But the ultrasound is not really reliable until 19-21 weeks, which is why most doctors won't do them until the 20 week anatomy scan. I've heard stories of women being told they were having a girl, getting super excited, then finding out at the anatomy scan that they were actually having a boy and having to deal with gender disappointment, or vice versa (it is more rare to be told boy when having a girl.)

I did a blood test for chromosomal disorders, like Down syndrome. Since they are looking at the babies chromosomes, they are able to see if it has the chromosomes XX (girl) or XY (boy) or XXY (which the extra chromosome would indicate Down syndrome)

I had a 3d/4d appt at 12w6d and he said 99% of the time he gets it right, Maybe its just the tech

I'm getting the harmony test done next week at 12+3. Results will take a little over a week to come in but thatll tell me the gender

Oh wow okay! The place I go to does 3D ultra sounds. Maybe I can convince my husband haha. 16 weeks sounds a lot better than 18! I am so so impatient haha!
