Hypothyroid and infertility?

Question

Just wondering if anyone has had infertility issues due to hypothyroid.

I'm 27 and my DH and I have been TTC for 13 cycles. We just started the first rounds of diagnostic testing and my doctor said it could be my thyroid as hypothyroidism runs in my family.

Basically I would like to hear if any of you ladies have had experience with this. Also, how long after starting hormones did you get your BFP? Thanks!

Its better to consult the endocrinologist and start with ur dosage. It will surely help.

Been trying for about 6 months and still nothing doctor is running more test and possibly starting clomid soon

I have hypothyroidism. With my first, I got pregnant almost right away. This time around, my husband and I have been TTC for over a year. My thyroid problems are messing with my periods. I can't stand it! Good luck!

Thanks for sharing! Luckily I have very regular cycles, I'm ovulating regularly, and haven't shown any signs of PCOS. I just want to get everything figured out and if it is my thyroid, get my hormones regulated so hopefully that gets ruled out as the cause of our infertility.

I have hypothyroid and pcos- never could determine which caused my issues. I had a long term boyfriend who I had unprotected sex with for about 8 years And Nothing, never got regular periods unless I was on birth control (which I took maybe one year out of 8). Chronic signs of a terribly low thyroid and intense case of pcos- flashforward 4 years, lost 60 lbs, maintained a gluten free diet and was on birth control/regulated thyroid (with levothyroxine) ended my period the day I got married to my now husband and didn't start my new pack of birth control, 4 weeks later a positive test. My son was born 40 weeks and 1 day after my wedding. I honestly feel it was because I lost weight which regulated my pcos, had my thyroid under control which allowed me to carry a healthy baby and ate gluten free! I gained the weight back and haven't been gluten free and have been trying for baby #2 for close to 2 years with no luck. Gluten free again now since last week so we will see! Good luck to you!
