In need of reassurance
I hesitate to write this because I'm sure many of you will read it and write me off as careless or incompetent (and believe me thats how I feel) but I will gladly face that judgement if I can be a cautionary tale.
My husband and I took our six week old son grocery shopping tonight. I clicked his infant seat into the stroller frame and off we went. At one point during our shopping he started to fuss so I unclipped him and picked him up. I knew I was going to have to nurse him before going home so when I put him back down I didn't bother to strap him back in.
A few minutes later he was crying to eat so I walked him out to the car, leaving my husband to get the last few things and check out. Well, when I went to remove the car seat from the stroller frame, it got stuck on one end and tilted forward in the frame, sending my son onto the pavement head first. I screamed and grabbed him and a group of kind strangers came over to help. Someone called 911 and moments later we were in the ambulance. Thankfully my little guy doesn't even have a scratch and is totally fine but please don't ever EVER leave your baby unsecured in a stroller or car seat for any reason. The panic I felt was the worst moment of my life and I don't want another mom to go through that and make the mistake I did.
