Baby girl is here!
Myla Rae was due August 10th, but I was born July 26th, 2016 at 37 weeks 6 days at 4:04 pm. Weighing 8 pounds 15.6 ounces and 22 inches long (eventually 20 inches once her cone head went away)
On Monday, the 25th, I went to my 38 week doctors appt and my blood pressure was high and protein was found in my urine. I was sent to the hospital to be monitored, where they just decided to induce me. We started magnesium and pitocin around 3 pm, I was already 2 cm dilated and 90% thinned when I arrived at the hospital. By 8 that night I was 3 cm, and was progressing pretty steadily but slowly. By 8 am I was 5 cm, and wasn't really feeling any discomfort the doctor decided to break my water, and then the contractions kicked in full gear. I got my epidural around 10 (which wasn't traumatic but hurt!), then I felt great! But a few minutes later I started feeling contractions pretty bad and they upped my dosage. I was able to get some what comfortable and relax for a little bit. Around 2 I was starting to feel a lot of pressure and closer more painful contractions. Around 3 I felt the urge to push, so they checked me and I was at 9.5 cm! A few minutes later i REALLY had to push. I pushed for 40 minutes. It was the most horrible pain I ever felt getting her head out, but once her head was out it didn't hurt nearly as bad! Her shoulders got stuck on my pelvic bone for about 30 seconds and she was blue. My nurse jumped right on top of my bed and pushed on my stomach to get her out while another doctor pulled. The NICU team checked her out while I got cleaned up and stitched (2nd degree tear). Hearing her scream was the best thing in the world. My amazing fiancé, mom, and sister were able to see Myla come into this world, and although scary and chaotic at some points, it was the most amazing experience of my life. And now Myla will be a week old tomorrow. 💗👶🏼🎀
