My Birth Story♥️

I am so excited to share my birth story! At 36 weeks I was told I had preeclampsia so I would be getting induced at 37 weeks exactly. I went to my doctor at 36weeks 6days for a routine NST and the doctor came in and told me I would be getting induced then instead of waiting until the morning because baby had a couple decels during the NST. My husband and I went home and grabbed our things while my mom came and picked up our two older children. Then we headed to the hospital to begin the induction process. I was checked into the antepartum floor because they didn't want to take up a room in L&D until I was in really active labor. I got my first cervidil at 6:30pm. At first there wasn't much of anything happening but after about 3 hours I started having regular contractions. They weren't super painful but they were definitely noticeable. I had them all night and I was sure that the cervidil had done its job and that when they checked me again at 6:30am I would be far enough along to be moved to L&D. Finally 6:30am rolled around and my doctor told me that she wanted to do another cervidil. I immediately teared up because that meant another 12 hours before they would even check me again. They waited until 9:30 am to place the second cervidil and like clockwork about 3 hours later I started having contractions again. From about 12:30 to 3:30 the contractions were pretty bearable but then out of nowhere they became extremely painful. The nurse came in and decided to check me. When she did she realized that the cervidil had "suction cupped" (her words) to my cervix. She had to pull it off and that was more painful than the contractions. She then said "oh good you're 5cm. I will call and get you a room in L&D" I was so thankful but still in so much pain I had no clue how I was going to make it downstairs without screaming and making a scene the whole way. I heard her call and then she checked me again about 2 minutes later. Then she said "oh wow now you're 7cm we really need to get you downstairs before we have a baby right here." Before I knew it I had about 10 more nurses in my room and they were telling me that there were no rooms open in L&D. At that point I really didn't care I just wanted to deliver my baby. Then they told me that they found me a room on the c-section floor that I could deliver in. They took my entire bed and wheeled it to the elevator and down to the c-section floor. The whole way I was rolling around screaming in pain. When I got there they told me I was ready to push. I started pushing on my back but I didn't feel like I was making any progress so I asked if I could flip over. Before I knew it I was on my hands and knees bearing down. I could feel my baby girl moving down. Then it came, the notorious "ring of fire". I gave a little push and her head was out. They told me to stop pushing so that she could "wiggle out" and so I wouldn't tear. I stopped pushing and I could literally feel her wiggling and trying to get out. As much as it hurt it was also one of the coolest feelings in the world. When I couldn't take it anymore I gave a little push and out she came! I reached down and pulled her up to me and that is when my husband snapped this photo. It felt amazing to finally hold her in my arms. I am so thankful for my husband and his support. Although I have given birth 3 times this was the only time I did it all natrual and he was by my side 100% of the time cheering me on and then telling me how proud he was of me. We feel unbelievably blessed for this sweet little girl in our lives! Born 7-22-16 at 6:01pm. 6lbs 3oz. 19 1/2 inches
