Are there any teachers out there?

So I am about to graduate in May and plan on doing Teach for America and I also plan on moving out. But apartments are like 1200 a month for rent on top of other bills and expenses.. I guess my question is, how have you guys been with a teachers salary? What are some suggestions for budgeting and stuff?

I'm a teacher, but because I'm underage (I'm 14) they pay my by the hour. So, I get paid $4 an hour, and I work like 20 hours a week. So, it's hard to buy clothes and stuff like that on such a small income. I still live with my family, so I have no issue with rent. However, buying clothing and other technical non necessities at thrift stores can save major money, as well as carpooling and couponing.

I'm not a teacher or anything but to help with budgeting try coupon shopping and what not or buy things in bulk as it seems to be cheaper that way. Good luck with everything!
