OMG is the harmony lab test serious?!?!

I was highly recommended to have the harmony labs done. Got the bill from my insurance provider which is actually amazing.  How can 1 thing of labs  cost this much and if my insurance is normally fantastic how can anyone afford this? Sorry baby girl you just lost your college funds.

My doctors office said it was free, but we got a $700 bill and all we did was call them and they're all like "we're just responsible to send out three letters. You don't owe anything! Sorry about that." It's like they're just trying to see who falls for it and pays them. 😤 asshats.

I called Harmony directly and it's only $130 without using insurance.

I had this test done & they tried to charge me 8,000 but we called harmony and all I have to pay is 200 co pay! call them !

Don't pay one cent of that. Looks like a mistake or some type of insurance fraud. We had a bill for 13,000 for one urine sample.  It ended up being the labs fault for misinterpreted the code the doctor used. Please don't pay that until you investigate it! That's definitely not right!

It was irresponsible of your genetic counselor not to let you know how this would go down. Mine let me know we'd get a crazy bill but would only have to call, mention the agreed upon, non-insurance price ($100), and we'd be good to go. Not cool of your GC, far as I'm concerned. Glad it turned out okay.

Harmony shouldn't be more than 800-1000 to begin with! Call them up. The company sucks tbh i have had the WORST TIME with them this week. Theyre paid off and are withholding my results, they cant get them to my dr and neither them nor the dr are doing anything about it. Wouldn't surprise me if harmony shafted you but that does seem way way way way way too expensive

My genetic counselor told us it'd be free because of high risk results on preliminary blood work. I hope she's right. I have horrible insurance and only make 13k a year. I'm terrified of what may come in the mail.
