Newborn at the beach?

Would it be a good idea to take a newborn to the beach? I'm due on the 30thnof August but I'm not allowed to go full term due to GD so he will probably be here around the 23rd. My family is going to the beach September 10th for a week. We would be staying in a beach house. Good idea or no?

I would obviously be extra cautious while packing. Making sure to have everything necessary for the little one. But wouldn't stress too much over it and would personally be okay with it.

I took my daughter when she was 6 weeks old and she was miserable because of how hot and humid it was - even in the shade.

I wouldn't say it wasn't safe but she definitely didn't enjoy it.

Hi Shannon! I have a question for you somewhat unrelated. I also have GD- did your doc offer to induce you at 39 weeks due to uncontrolled GD or just because you have it? I only ask bc I'm curious if mine will let me go past 40.. I'm hoping not!! But I've managed GD with diet so not on meds. Not sure if that makes a difference

My child was always at the beach as soon as I felt well enough to go we were there.

We live at the beach...just keep babe hydrated and shaded and out of the sun. We always use a sun hat and the little one piece rash guards that have built in spf...you don't have to but we do because sunblock isn't necessarily recommended for babies under 6 months. Enjoy!
