I'm a nanny and have been a nanny for an awesome family for 2 going on 3 years. I love my job. I nanny for a divorced family (started watching the kids right before the divorce happened) the parents have 50/50 custody and I bounce from house to house, luckily the schedule was easy to pick up on. 😀 the mom is a teacher (main reason why I wanted to be their nanny) and the dad works at a power plant. I've had a pretty easy summer Monday- Wednesday I worked 7am to 8:15 am. And Thursday's 6-6. That included driving the oldest child around- which I don't get paid for. She is only the moms kid and the dad is the one that pays me. I didn't ever ask for money but told her she needed to start getting a ride to her morning activities with a friend on Thursdays because it's not fair for the little to have to be up early to get her to morning stuff. It makes for a very long morning with very grumpy littles. On Tuesday the mom told the dad that she wants to put the kids in the after school program, eliminating my job, because I've "been kinda flaky this summer" uhhhhhhh, say what?! I've been nothing but accommodating to this family, I take the kids to their dental appointments an hour away! I've taken them to get flu shots I got the the little girl ready for her dance recital, I get the boy to any sports practices he may have. VERY ACCOMODATING! I took a couple days off at the beginning of the summer to go visit family. I took a sick day on Monday because I was so dead tired and sick to my stomach that I couldn't function. Those are the ONLY days I've taken off of work this summer. So I think I've decided that I am only going to work on the dads days. I need you thoughts and opinions!
