I'm using my daughters car seat for this baby. My daughters going to be 1 tomorrow. It's not expired and I know it hasn't been in an accident. I wouldn't buy one from a garage sale or for sale site. If you can't afford a new car seat and have a lower income WIC will provide you with a brand new car seat. Might be something to look into.

We got a used one but it is in very good condition and my husband washed the material. I'd say if you are not sure buy a new one but it's not bad to opt in for a used one. Make sure that it's not damaged and that it's still safe to use and you should be fine. Everyone has their own preferences though so look at your options. Good luck.
