Pregnant with vaginismus *stressed*
I suffer from a condition called vaginismus which for those of you who don't know what it is, it is a condition where intercourse can be very painful, and sometimes impossible, as the muscles tighten up and go into spasm or closes the vagina completely over.
It has really affected my sex life as until today I have never had complete penetration - in fact I had absolutely no penetration for the first 1 year of getting married and 2 years later it's minimal and infrequent.
Luckily I've been blessed and conceived about 3 months ago.. Don't tell me you can't get pregnant without full penetration because that's not true! Now here comes the thing I'm worried about. How will I go through labour and delivery. The advice 'get yourself treated' or 'work on it before your due date' are not very useful in my case as nothing seems to work.
I have had no internal exams - and I'm worried that I won't be able to let the midwife check for dilation. What happens when it's time to deliver? What should I do? Please help me out - and if anyone has been through this or something similar what did you do?
Much much appreciated.
